Was competitive-game parity limited to the Clash titles?

No. The cohorts also bought Call of Duty Mobile at nearly identical rates: 5.4% of 8 Ball Pool payers and 5.2% of Subway Surfers payers. Together with the Clash Royale and Clash of Clans results, that parity contrasts with the much wider Roblox and Minecraft gaps. These co-purchase rates show different external wallets, not which game each person played most.

How much did the two Miniclip payer cohorts overlap?

Only 29 people paid for both 8 Ball Pool and Subway Surfers during the study period, equal to 3.3% of the full Subway Surfers payer cohort. That small overlap is consistent with the different external game wallets, but it does not measure free play or prove that cross-promotion between the games was ineffective.

Assumptions & Methodologies

We analyzed U.S. e-receipt panelists who paid for 8 Ball Pool or Subway Surfers from January 1, 2025–August 16, 2026. Cross-title wallet rates used Apple receipts because their line items identify game names cleanly; Google receipts contributed only to full-cohort sizing. Miniclip titles were excluded from comparison counts. The analysis measures co-purchase, not usage, switching, or causality. Account holders are adult inbox owners, so children’s play is inferred from purchased titles. The Subway Surfers Apple cohort was smaller, and panel results are not market totals.
