Were GeForce NOW payers actively buying games on Steam?
Yes. Among 701 GeForce NOW payers with Steam receipts, the average was 23.4 Steam orders and ~$1,012 in spend from August 2025 through July 2026, versus 18.3 orders and ~$647 among benchmark Steam buyers. In April–June 2026, 78.5% of GeForce NOW Steam buyers made a purchase, compared with 69.7% of benchmark Steam buyers. Because GeForce NOW requires users to link a PC store, these purchase patterns show an active paid relationship beyond merely linking an account.
Assumptions & Methodologies
We analyzed U.S. e-receipts from August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2026. GeForce NOW payers (n=1,214) had a directly billed membership or day-pass receipt. Other engaged gamers (n=153,071) had a Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation Plus, or Amazon Luna receipt and no GeForce NOW payment. We divided the share of GeForce NOW payers using each service by the corresponding benchmark share and rounded to two decimals; 1.0× means equal. App-store billing is excluded. GeForce NOW requires users to link a PC game store. This snapshot comparison does not show that GeForce NOW changed behavior.
