Which OTC glucose monitors did Oura Ring buyers purchase?
In a separate, broader cohort of 275 Oura Ring buyers with an observed glucose-monitor purchase, 70% bought Dexcom Stelo and 40% bought Abbott Lingo; 30% bought only Lingo. Some buyers purchased both devices, so the Stelo and Lingo shares overlap. This broader cohort begins with 2023 ring buyers and does not share the adoption chart’s denominator.
When did Oura Ring buyers adopt an OTC glucose monitor?
In the broader 275-person device-mix cohort, 62%, or 170 buyers, first showed an OTC glucose-monitor purchase in May 2025 or later. OTC devices launched only in mid-2024, so this timing is descriptive and cannot establish that Oura ownership or any product integration caused adoption.
Assumptions & Methodologies
We analyzed established U.S. e-receipt panelists from Jan. 2024–Aug. 2026. Wearable cohorts required a hardware receipt: Oura Ring of at least $250 (n=5,293), Garmin n=7,652, and Peloton n=9,342; the active panel had 1.2 million people. OTC glucose monitoring meant a Dexcom Stelo or Abbott Lingo receipt. A separate broader cohort of 275 Oura Ring buyers with an all-time glucose-monitor receipt measured device mix and timing. That cohort does not share the chart denominator. Second-decimal rates are directional because numerators are moderate. Hardware-price proxies can misclassify, subscription-only wearables are not reliably captured, and associations do not show Oura caused adoption.
