73.2% of Direct Starz Cancelers With Another Streamer Kept One Within 90 Days

Source: YipitData U.S. e-receipt panel. The full July 2025–April 2026 direct-canceler cohort included 1,819 panelists with no later Starz reactivation. Missing receipts make the 73.2% persistence rate a floor and the 26.8% no-longer-observed rate an upper bound.

Which streaming services did former Starz subscribers still hold?

From March–August 2026, Netflix appeared for 33.7% of the full direct-canceler cohort, followed by Disney+ at 9.7%, Peacock at 8.5%, Hulu at 7.5%, Max at 4.7%, and Paramount+ at 4.5%. The cohort also held Philo, AMC+, and BritBox at smaller volumes. These are current co-holdings, not evidence that any service replaced Starz.

Assumptions & Methodologies

We analyzed established U.S. e-receipt panelists with a prior direct Starz signal and a terminal cancellation from July 2025–April 2026, no later reactivation, and at least 90 days of follow-up (n=1,819). Another streamer meant a non-Starz subscription receipt in fixed 90-day windows before and after cancellation across direct and third-party billing. The persistence measure used the approximately 1,108 cancelers with another service before cancellation. Current wallet shares used March–August 2026 and a 29,869-person active-panel benchmark. Missing receipts can understate persistence, app-store-billed Starz cancelers are excluded, and co-holding does not establish switching, substitution, or why subscribers canceled.
