Where did UScellular payers from before the T-Mobile transition appear by mid-2026?
Among the 23,074 recurring UScellular payers, 68.9% appeared on T-Mobile billing in June–July 2026, 7.3% still paid UScellular, and 3.4% paid a rival carrier instead. The remaining 20.4% had no observed card payment to a tracked carrier. That last group may include people who changed to ACH, paid through another household member, or left the observable carrier set; it should not be read as churn.
Was UScellular’s card-invisible share unusually high?
No. The share with no observed carrier card payment was 20.4% for the UScellular cohort, between 19.2% for the matched Verizon cohort and 27.2% for the matched AT&T cohort. The control comparison shows that both rival moves and disappearing card payments were within the range observed for carriers without this billing transition.
Assumptions & Methodologies
We analyzed our U.S. Credit & Debit Panel. The UScellular cohort made payments in at least two distinct months in Q1 2025; AT&T and Verizon controls were built identically. We assigned each payer one June–July 2026 outcome. A rival move required a payment to another carrier and no payment to the home or successor carrier. T-Mobile included Metro and Mint; Verizon included Visible and Total; AT&T included Cricket. Card data excludes ACH, cash, retail prepaid payments, and bills paid with another person’s card.
