Which receipt appeared first for customers at both Blast Motion and GameChanger?

Among 67 customers with both brands, the first observed GameChanger receipt preceded the first Blast Motion receipt for 35 customers and appeared in the same period or later for 32. The nearly even split does not show that GameChanger led customers to Blast Motion or that either product caused adoption of the other.

What does the overlap measure?

The result identifies GameChanger as a more common adjacent paid relationship among the observed Blast Motion customers than the two tracked swing-tech rivals. It does not measure product usage, customer attention, or spending outside captured receipts. GameChanger is generally subscription-billed, while Blast Motion receipts mix hardware and subscriptions, so observed relationship lengths are not directly comparable.

Assumptions & Methodologies

We analyzed YipitData’s U.S. e-receipt panel from 2021–August 2026. The cohort included 198 panelists with a Blast Motion receipt from hardware purchases or Blast Connect billing. GameChanger and the direct-rival services Rapsodo and Diamond Kinetics were identified from receipt text, including Apple and Google billing descriptions. Sixty-seven Blast Motion customers had a GameChanger receipt and eight had a receipt from either direct rival. Emailed app receipts can be missing when an inbox is not connected, the cohort is small, and first-observed dates are limited by the 2021 panel start. Results are directional associations, not market penetration or causal estimates.
