Other streaming fell for Crunchyroll lapsers while their non-streaming receipts stayed near the prior level
Later-period level as a share of each group’s earlier-period level; 100 = no change. Earlier: November 2025–February 2026; later: April–July 2026
Later-period level relative to earlier period (100 = no change)
Source: YipitData U.S. e-receipt panel. Lapsed subscribers n=6,643; retained subscribers n=5,825. March 2026 was excluded between the equal four-month windows. Lapse means no observed Crunchyroll billing signal in April–July, not confirmed cancellation.

How many other streaming services did Crunchyroll lapsers hold?
Crunchyroll lapsers averaged 1.10 other paid streaming services in the earlier period and 0.69 later. Retained subscribers moved from 0.88 to 0.90. Because receipt cadence differs by service, the within-group change is more dependable than comparing the absolute service counts across Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Max, Peacock, Paramount+, and HIDIVE.
Could the streaming decline reflect panelists disappearing from the data?
Continued receipt activity argues against that explanation. Lapsers’ total receipt count fell 3% and their non-streaming receipt count fell 2%, compared with the 17% reduction in the share holding another paid streamer. This check supports a streaming-specific pullback, but the observational design does not establish why subscribers reduced their streaming holdings.
Assumptions & Methodologies
We analyzed 13,669 established U.S. e-receipt panelists with a Crunchyroll billing signal in Nov. 2025–Feb. 2026. We compared that earlier period with Apr.–Jul. 2026 and excluded March. Lapsed subscribers (n=6,643) had no Crunchyroll signal in the later period; retained subscribers (n=5,825) had one in Jun.–Jul.; 1,201 were ambiguous. Other streaming covered Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Max, Peacock, Paramount+, and HIDIVE. Receipt cadence differs by service, so cross-service levels are not comparable. Lapse is not confirmed cancellation, the design does not isolate price effects, and Prime Video is excluded. Non-streaming and total receipts checked continued observability.
