Which AI providers appeared in Epidemic Sound subscribers’ receipts?
Anthropic or Claude appeared for 24.1% of Epidemic Sound subscribers, OpenAI or ChatGPT for 19.6%, Midjourney for 5.7%, and ElevenLabs for 4.8%. A subscriber can pay more than one provider, so these percentages overlap and do not add to the 37.2% combined rate.
Does this show that AI tools compete with Epidemic Sound?
No. The shared receipt window shows that the same subscribers paid both types of provider, but not which came first or how either product was used. App-store billing can hide some subscriptions under Apple or Google, and music-library competitors were not reliably identifiable in this source.
Assumptions & Methodologies
We analyzed YipitData’s U.S. e-receipt panel from August 2024–June 2026. The Epidemic Sound group contained 1,531 established, recently active subscribers. The creative-software comparison contained 110,128 Adobe subscribers under the same constraints. Paid AI covered OpenAI, Anthropic, Midjourney, ElevenLabs, Runway, Descript, and Synthesia. A subscriber counted after at least one qualifying receipt in the shared window. App-store billing can undercount AI subscriptions, and the panel skews slightly male and upper-middle income. The analysis does not establish adoption sequence, product use, substitution, or causality.
