How unusual was Squarespace or Wix site ownership?

The strict Squarespace or Wix site-owner rate was 8.1% among GoDaddy customers versus 1.58% among 1,398,278 active panelists, a 5.1× difference. Because the analysis uses same-window co-occurrence, it does not show which provider came first or whether one service replaced another.

Assumptions & Methodologies

We analyzed 34,371 U.S. e-receipt panelists with GoDaddy site-owner receipts over the 12 months ending August 18, 2026. Competitor owners had strict Squarespace or Wix plan, subscription, domain, mailbox, or owner-order signals; consumer checkout was excluded. The benchmark contained 1,398,278 active panelists. Shopify was excluded because consumer receipts dominated its observed billing. GoDaddy Payments was inferred from merchant payment-received receipts. Strict competitor definitions make overlap a floor, email-level IDs can split one person, and the panel skews slightly male and upper-middle income. Results show co-occurrence, not order, switching, or causality.
