How many IXL Ultimate buyers also bought another tracked workbook brand?

At least one other tracked workbook brand appeared among 52.7% of the 1,185 IXL Ultimate buyers. For this measure, another brand includes Carson Dellosa, Spectrum, and Summer Bridge, which IXL owns, as well as workbook brands owned by other companies. Their average of 1.94 tracked brands was about 58% higher than the 1.23 average for other workbook buyers.

Which workbook brands appeared most often with IXL Ultimate?

School Zone appeared among 19.6% of IXL Ultimate buyers, Spectrum among 13.5%, Scholastic among 12.6%, and Summer Bridge among 11.2%. In total, 28.4% also bought at least one Carson Dellosa-family brand, which IXL owns.

Does cross-buying show that IXL buyers lacked brand loyalty?

Not by itself. The same-window purchases show that IXL Ultimate buyers shopped across more workbook brands. They do not show purchase order, substitution, digital-subscription conversion, or whether families preferred one brand over another.

Assumptions & Methodologies

We analyzed YipitData’s U.S. e-receipt panel. IXL Ultimate workbook buyers had an Amazon receipt with IXL and workbook, grade, Ultimate, or math text from January 2024–July 2026. The tracked workbook universe contained 15,402 buyers across IXL, School Zone, Scholastic, Brain Quest, Evan-Moor, Kumon, 180 Days, and Carson Dellosa brands. Brand breadth counts every distinct brand bought in the window, including IXL-owned Carson Dellosa brands. Receipt text can omit line-item details, so overlap is a floor. The direct IXL subscription sample was too small to measure workbook-to-subscription conversion. Results describe co-purchase, not sequence, switching, preference, or causation.
