Which competing cameras appeared most often among myQ buyers?

Ring appeared among 18.8% of myQ device buyers, compared with 3.2% of other Amazon buyers. Blink appeared among 9.1% of myQ buyers and 2.3% of the benchmark. The benchmark contains only other Amazon buyers, so the comparison does not merely contrast Amazon shoppers with people who may not shop there.

How common were captured recurring video subscriptions?

A recurring video subscription appeared for 4.6% of myQ buyers, while any video or professional home-security service appeared for 9.1%. Among the 912 myQ buyers who also owned a Ring device, 4.3% had a captured recurring video subscription. These rates understate total subscription use because some plans bill without a distinct emailed line item or through an unlinked account.

Assumptions & Methodologies

We analyzed YipitData’s U.S. e-receipt panel from January 2024 through August 17, 2026. The cohort included 4,850 Amazon buyers of myQ-branded connected devices or Chamberlain Smart Garage Control; unrelated text matches were excluded. The benchmark included 897,074 other Amazon buyers. Rival-camera ownership came from Ring, Blink, Nest, Arlo, Wyze, or Eufy item text. Paid video included captured Ring, Nest, Arlo, or Blink subscriptions. Subscription receipts can be missing or billed through another account, so paid rates are floors. The concurrent window does not establish purchase order or causation.
