7.7% of Simple Subscribers Had a GLP-1-Related Receipt vs. 4.6% of Health-App Peers

Of 892 2023–2025 Simple subscribers, 7.7% later had a GLP-1 drug or GLP-1-labeled product receipt by Aug. 2026 vs. 4.6% of health-app peers.

Did the GLP-1-related receipt usually appear after the Simple subscription?

Yes. Among the 69 Simple subscribers with both signals, 68 had their first GLP-1-related receipt after their first Simple subscription. Across the broader intermittent-fasting cohort, 95% of 423 crossovers followed that order. This establishes observed sequence, not that using a fasting app caused the later purchase or that the subscriber stopped paying for Simple.

Does every GLP-1-related receipt indicate a prescription medication?

No. The measure includes receipts naming Wegovy, Zepbound, Ozempic, Mounjaro, semaglutide, or tirzepatide, plus products carrying a generic GLP-1 label. In the broader intermittent-fasting crossover group, 76 of 423 receipts, or 18%, named a prescription drug; the rest reflected the wider GLP-1 companion-product economy. The named-drug subset for Simple was too small for a separate claim.

Assumptions & Methodologies

We analyzed YipitData’s U.S. e-receipt panel. Simple subscribers had Apple or Google receipts naming Simple’s intermittent-fasting or weight-loss products in 2023–2025; later GLP-1-related receipts were observed through August 2026. The measure includes named GLP-1 drugs and products labeled GLP-1, so it is broader than medication use. Simple’s later app-store receipt capture declined, making cancellation and recent trend claims unreliable. Only 69 Simple subscribers had both signals, so the exact 7.7% rate is uncertain. Insurance-paid fills are undercaptured, and sequence does not establish substitution or causation.
