Which Ultimate Guitar subscribers had more lessons-app overlap?
Among 723 Ultimate Guitar subscribers paying for a Courses or Sing plan, 5.1% also paid a standalone guitar-lessons app. The rate was 2.8% among 2,100 tabs-only subscribers. That difference describes payment overlap and does not show whether subscribers used the products together or replaced one with another.
Does payment overlap measure how people practiced guitar?
No. Receipts identify paid plans, not app usage, practice time, or free lesson products. The standalone-lessons group is small, so the exact overlap percentages are directional. Same-period payments also do not reveal which product a customer bought first or why they kept more than one.
Assumptions & Methodologies
We analyzed active U.S. e-receipt panelists with an observed paid Ultimate Guitar, Songsterr, Chordify, or Moises subscription from August 2025–August 2026. Cohorts were Ultimate Guitar n=2,823, Moises n=823, Songsterr n=317, and Chordify n=260. Overlap required a payment to a separately billed standalone guitar-lessons app in the same period. Receipts can miss direct billing or another inbox and do not measure free products or usage. Small overlap cells make exact percentages imprecise, and same-period payment does not establish sequence, substitution, or causality.
