Did Zoosk’s higher overlap remain among older payers?

The same pattern appeared among older payers, but the small groups make the exact percentages imprecise. Among payers age 55 or older, 39.4% of 104 Zoosk payers also paid another dating app, compared with 16.5% of 1,816 OurTime payers and 17.9% of 84 Match payers. For ages 35–54, the comparable shares were 36.4% of 77 Zoosk payers and 17.6% of 1,496 OurTime payers.

Does dating-app overlap show that Zoosk users held two apps at once?

Not necessarily. A payer counted as using multiple apps when receipts from at least two tracked dating apps appeared anywhere in the same 12-month window. The analysis does not establish which app came first, whether subscriptions overlapped in time, or why a user paid each service. Direct Match billing is also less completely captured than app-store billing.

Assumptions & Methodologies

We analyzed YipitData’s U.S. e-receipt panel from August 17, 2025 through August 17, 2026. Payers with receipts from at least two tracked dating apps during the window counted as having app overlap. The comparison covered Zoosk, OurTime, Match, and Tinder, with age splits for panelists whose ages were inferred. It measures payment activity within one year, not simultaneous use or switching sequence. Zoosk and some age cells are modest, direct Match billing is undercaptured, and panel composition can affect comparisons.
